kidmartinek (656), austin, Texas, USA May 7, 2008 Congratulations to be a drinker of the Anheuser Buschs’, of Germany, Warsteiner’s, pour, not poor, excuse to a dunkel, which is actually their shitty pale lager now with darker color! Dark brown 1 inch tan head, medium malt aroma with sugar, and corn present. Empty bubble crap foam. Water mouthfeel. Lager sugar, corn taste, crap! Drink a beast light instead and save money. The name, VaarSchteiner, not Warsteiner, has nothing to do with quality brewing, and everything to do with mass production and profiteering. Yeah, yardpour people! Stop rating beer based on name people and start rating it on quality and tate. Any beer that has corn in it, and you can go fuck yourself!.
msante79 (171), Illinois, USA Jul 15, 2008 11.2 oz bottle. Pours reddish brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is caramel and roasted malts. Flavor is of caramel, toffee and roasted malts. My first dunkel so unsure what to expect. This was a little watery for my liking but with caramel and roasted malts it is enjoyable. zappafan99 (214), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2008 Taste 7/8. Have had this a dozen times. Looks: Brown to black body, with a small off white foam. Aroma: Muted straw malt. Soft water. Taste: Warsteiner with a roasted straw presence. Mild hop cleans up after the stickiness and soft water. A little sweet. IlanMan (466), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jul 6, 2008 Pour was medium dark with light tan head. Aroma of light caramel and malt. Flavor was watered down grain finishing lightly bitter and sweet. Clean and refreshing but nothing special. Won’t buy again. maniac4016 (80), sky ute, Illinois, USA Jul 5, 2008 nice & clean looks are deciving & this beer is lighter than it looks but flavors are nice & clean all way through Paul150 (4), , Georgia, USA does not count Jun 30, 2008 This was my first Dunkel I tried, having previously had Warsteiner’s Premium Verum. The aroma was slight and of roasted malts. When I drank this at home, it was straight out of the bottle, so I have little input on the appearance. I liked the overall flavor. It was mostly of roasted malts and a slight coffee. However, I was expecting a slightly stronger roasted taste. Nothing was wrong with the taste, though. The texture was very smooth and drinkable, though a bit watery. Overall an enjoyable beer but nothing spectacular.
