The aroma is sweet - artificially and very lemony, while the flavor also is very lemony again somewhat artificial with a slight touch of malt, and a dry end. I wonder if artificially sweeteners has been used. Papsoe (14997), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Jul 25, 2005 Unlisted to my knowledge at BCL, I found this at the Poco store where it was the only one of its kind. I was buying oldies for re-rates but couldn’t pass up a new beer that wasn’t a malt liquor. In retrospect, I probably should have scooped the O’Keefe Extra Old Stock as this proved a failure in all respects. You’d think that on a hot summer’s day after hiking to the top of a mountain this would hit the spot, but it’s far too sweet and artificial for that. Moreover, it has a distinct lack of beer character - more like lemon and ginger ale, with an unhealthy dose of citric acid added to the mix as an afterthought. Gak! Stick to Russell Lemon, if you insist on such things. Me? I’ve got a Schneider Weisse in the fridge. KimJohansen (7060), Copenhagen V, Denmark
