note666 (282), Eindhoven, Netherlands Apr 27, 2008 330 ml bottle. light golden coloured. not to impressive head. taste is to bitter and sour. not as good as I hoped. BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Apr 25, 2008 550ml Bottle - Gravity Beer Market - Olympia, WA
Aroma – Nice use of malts with a very flat hops nose. Very bitter in the aroma.
Appearance – Golden in color, Nice head and clear.
Flavor – Had a decent flavor, crisp could be drank but the flavor was very flat and dull.
Palate – Decent Mouthfeel, OK texture with a dry finish.
Overall – Hard to get beers from one Content to the next so this beer had a long travel. Held pretty good but not my favorite beer.
jasonug8 (6), USA does not count Apr 15, 2008 A very smooth, mild, easy to drink and enjoyable German beer, or verum. It is a classic German pilsner. nchomefinder (29), North Carolina, USA Apr 15, 2008 this a good lager. good flavor, easy to drink. great looking bottle. will drink again. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Apr 12, 2008 4/2/08: Bottle. Light yellow body with a pillowy, pure white head. Straw nose. Light lager flavor with a lemon finish. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Apr 11, 2008 Pours blond with a tall foamy white head. Aroma is crisp and a bit grassy and mixed with some European hops. Taste is carbonated and grassy. Some malt but generally pretty crisp and refreshing. A decent summer type beer or for whenever it’s hot. Finish is a bit sharp and the palate is carbonated. Not horrible, but more of an everyday refresher, especially when working on the lawn. RONCOD (104), Uledi, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 10, 2008 Golden yellow color. The smell was kind of skunky. The taste wasn’t bad, but nothing spectacular either. junon (210), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Apr 8, 2008 Love the olive green bottle. Thats were the love ends and followed by disappointment. This is not a bad beer by any means however it does not excel in any form either. Knowing that it was brewed under at least some form of the Reinheitsgebot eases the mind. However they did not do much with their great ingredients. Pilsner Urquell manages to pack a ton of unique flavor into their brand. This is simply a cold yellow alcoholic drink. Flavor wise it is not with the import over even a Bud Lite. If I were in Warstein, Germany I would have no problem drinking it all day long and would enjoy it. Seeing someone drink this outside of Warstein would cross me as pretentious.
