4/2/08: Bottle.
Light yellow body with a pillowy, pure white head. Straw nose. Light lager flavor with a lemon finish.

Pours blond with a tall foamy white head. Aroma is crisp and a bit grassy and mixed with some European hops. Taste is carbonated and grassy. Some malt but generally pretty crisp and refreshing. A decent summer type beer or for whenever it’s hot. Finish is a bit sharp and the palate is carbonated. Not horrible, but more of an everyday refresher, especially when working on the lawn.

Golden yellow color. The smell was kind of skunky. The taste wasn’t bad, but nothing spectacular either.

Love the olive green bottle. Thats were the love ends and followed by disappointment. This is not a bad beer by any means however it does not excel in any form either. Knowing that it was brewed under at least some form of the Reinheitsgebot eases the mind. However they did not do much with their great ingredients. Pilsner Urquell manages to pack a ton of unique flavor into their brand. This is simply a cold yellow alcoholic drink. Flavor wise it is not with the import over even a Bud Lite. If I were in Warstein, Germany I would have no problem drinking it all day long and would enjoy it. Seeing someone drink this outside of Warstein would cross me as pretentious.

12 oz bottle, pours gold-ish. Small, quickly dissipating head. Grassy, lemony, skunky taste (pretty much same as smell). Better than American Macro’s, but I can’t remember how expensive it is. If t is +$8 a six-pack, it probably isn’t worth it.

Golden straw color. Fizzy head that quickly dissipates. Typical lager/pilsener carbonation. Almost no aroma. Grain/malt taste that’s clean, fresh and simple.
