I used to think it was a pretty ok yet standard german pilsner, now it just bad - either my taste or the beer has changed. saxo (3680), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 27, 2004 Golden color with a sizable head that disappears fairly rapidly. Aroma was slightly hoppy and skunky. The taste was nothing super. Again, a mild skunk, but not the worst by far. I guess it has some flavor which puts it above Bud, but that’s about all it has going for it. gnoff (3579), Göteborg, Sweden

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 1, 2006 Best Before August 19th, 2006 bottle consumed on 2/24/2006. Bottle was kept in a cooler Clear, bright hay with slowly rising, large bubbles. Fair amount of white head that is retained, somewhat at a small cover, simply due to the fact that there is so much carbonation in this. There certainly is no lacing. Smells powdery (baby powder, powdered sugar, whatever). Hops are certainly there at first, but rather soggy, reminding of wet, dying (yellow) grass. Very weak strength aroma-wise. Hmmmm, biting carbonation upon first sip, highly carbonic, dry, bland straw and a mouthfull of dry, dead grass. Some powdery, borderline vanilla-tasting malt sugars. Almost plasticy on end, with just tons of dry straw, unbalanced lemongrass and noxious, disruptive carbonation. Watery and almost sourish towards the end. Straw soaked in seltzer water, with cheap hop extract bitterness, no flavoring hops. Watery texture, awfully powdery finish. A poorly made pale lager, in the worst sense of the term, with an exceptional amount of bitterness (for a pale lager). Definite apple skins in the aroma upon warming somewhat. Compound flaws, I’ll stop now. Dickinsonbeer (3517), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 9, 2002 had on my own 5 liter keg that me and my bro finished off in one night. Very nice head from the tap, and nice gold color. unique warsteiner aroma that had some czech and german hops in it but there was something i couldnt pinpoint- wasnt good but wasnt bad at all. Taste is light and sweet with subtle bittering and flavor hops. Goes down smooth and eaasy with no harsh flavors. Although I have had in a bottle and got some slight harshness- metallic tastes. Decent german pils but nothing outstanding. Gimme a prima anyday.
