Palest pale yellow color, fine white head. Aromatic head, i.e. giving off the typical lager-type whiff. Fresh, citrusy, lemon, clean, simple, blah, blah, blah...I’m sorry, no matter how many times I try to come up with something new, fresh, original, unique, etc...there’s nothing I can do!! It’s a boring beer!!!

Very pale straw colour with a large white frothy head. Smells like straw as well dough. Taste is decent enough without having too much flavour, slight bitterness and a short finish.

Surprised to see I haven’t had this before. Sweet, citrusy, grassy aromas with a slight skunkiness. Transparent light light blonde color with a small quickly dissipating head. Could stand to be darker. Start is somewhat astringent and sour. Finishes a roasted maltiness. Kind of burnt in the finish. Ehhh...so so.

Clear, light straw color and lazy carbonation. Musky hop aroma and sugary malts. Flavor of pears and wheat. This is an enjoyable beer in a pinch. A former favorite of mine before my beer education commenced but still not bad.

Re-rate: Bottle. Pours a light golden-yellow with a creamy thick white head and good carbonation. In the running for my favorite Pils. A semi-sweet herbal taste with a dash of bitterness. Nice, dark overtones, a good pour, a beautiful sight. [3.4]

Update in early 2008: Grassy nose with a goodly dollop of citrus, clear yellow-golden pour with heavy carbonation and a rich, soapy, rocky (brilliantly) white head. Taste managed to encompass both a rich maltiness with grassy, bready, citric overtones as well as a distinct hoppiness that unfortunately veers toward the macro level. Medium body with a touch of corn in the maltiness, but I’m not accusing anyone of adjuncts. Light bitterness in with the sweetness, and only an occasional dose of bitterness, in the abstract sense. Definitely chuggable, and a huge step up over BMC, but there’s still enough here for this to be enjoyed solo; it’s not a PIls I lust for, but it still more than gets the job done, here after four years! Aroma:good malt aroma,light cooked vegetable... Appearance:yellow fizzy beer... Flavor:Good malt flavor,light hops...

Pale straw like appearance with plenty of body.Low carbonisation and a nice fresh aroma maked this one stand out.

I never got this beer. Always thought of it as one of Germany’s worst, but it is treated like it’s this venerable classic. It’s drinkable, but over carbonated which makes having more than a few a chore for me.
