330ml bottle. Truly golden, average sized, white head. Smells like a king of hops. This aroma is later returned in the aftertaste. What happens in between is hard to put in words, but it’s certainly not good. The palate promises good but the taste is just... damp. Lapin Kulta if you know what I mean...

Bottle. Pours a golden hue with a white head. Very subdue grassy, pils aroma. The flavor is basic pils, slightly skunky. Light body, crisp, dry. (Rating from 14 Mar 08 on Lufthansa flight 430)

(0.33L Bottle) Pours golden with small white head. Malty and hoppy with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Tastes very similar to others in the category.

Poured a light yellow in color ... I’d say pale gold, only it wasn’t quite deep enough. Thin, yeasty head. Aroma of sour malt and yeast. Flavor is run-of-the-mill Pils, nothing to write home about. Wasn’t very impressed by this one at all. Warsteiner’s dunkel is far superior.

yellow color, no aroma, elusive flavor. can this even be considered a beer?

(330 ml bottle (best before 7/30/08)) Pours clear light yellow with three fingers of white head. Aroma of light honey, some hay, hint of pine. Mouthfeel medium-full, fairly smooth except lightly prickly. Flavor is honeyish malt, light hint of smokiness, slight bitterness overlays and provides a little pinch in finish. Pretty darn drinkable and good.

I didn’t mind Warsteiner Dunkel, so I decided to try the original brand. Overall, not as impressed as the dunkel. Appearance-wise, it resembled pale lagers too closely. The taste was only slightly more distinguishable from the rest of the paler beers. I can say now that I’ve tried it, but if I want cheaper german beer, I’ll stick to Warsteiner Dunkel.
