It has a nice bit of hop bite to it, as well, but it's not very complex or interesting. Still, it's refreshing and solid. Kaya161 (1129), San Diego, California, USA

Beer writer James D. Robertson wrote twenty years ago of ’a very fine Pilsener’ with ’complex malt and hop aroma, and flavour’, so I was expecting a little more than was served up. Maybe big business has reeled its ugly head! Clear pale gold with very fine, light carbonation failing to keep its initially fluffy white head on for longer than the first sip. Overly generous unfermented and gritty malt, and haystack chaff aroma (a little like my breakfast cereal). The aroma wasn’t unclean, but more reminiscent of barnyard musty. Similar to the aroma in the mouth which gave the feeling of a non-alcoholic ’Near beer’ with its gluggy, gritty and lightly toasted malt flavour and bready yeast feel. It had a little balance in the back with some grassy and slightly sour hops. Finish is malty and sour with a long lingering effect like spent grains. It was generous in flavour, which I suppose was it failing point as it came across as clumsy and didn’t get any better towards the end of the glass. Disappointing!!!
