Not too bad for a pretty commercial beer made for more popular tastes and mass consumption. I still enjoy simple beers like this from time to time. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Nose held notes of sweet corn, grassy hops and light fruity tones. Similar in taste with herbal grassy notes throughout. Light to medium bodied, prickly carbonation, crisp, dry, fruity finish. For free it was fine, but would never go out of my way for another one either...

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Bottles and on tap. Clear golden pour with a foam white head, some lacing. Light aroma, taste of grains and hops, smooth and drinkable, maybe a little weak for some. For a popular mass produced German Pilsener nicely put together and I like it very much- great drinker! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2009 500 mL Can. Pours a clear bright yellow with a small white head quickly subsiding to a foamy film but leaving good lace on the sides. The aroma is sweet malt, hay, grains, a light grassyness about it, and a faint hint of honey and floral and an innuendo of lemon rind. The flavor is sweet malt with a bitter finish that is well balanced with the malt. The hops come through in the aftertaste but not too overpowering. Smooth carbonation and a somewhat lingering hop aftertaste that I think fits the style. This is one German Pils I really like. A good beer for the money. Prosit! JanEric (208), Meppel, Netherlands
