Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton A golden coloured beer with a slightly perfumed hoppy aroma. The taste has straw and citrus notes and hints of parma violets. Not bad.

Cask at the Royal Blenheim, Oxford, 21-09-09 at CAMRA Oxford Beer Festival planning mtg. Pours gold once again much like the Batemans beforehand this had very good clarity a nice white head, and also in spiffingly good condition in. There isn’t the hops that I expected but they do show on the nose albeit in a rather restrained manner, touch floral also. Taste is refreshing and lightly fruity, there is a slight hoppy bite and an intial zippiness that starts to fade after a while, that said I rather enjoyed this and were I not driving I think that I would have been happy to have had another. Cask handpull at The Chambers, Folkestone. The pump clip promises hops. Well I didn’t notice any hardly at all. I expecting a glass full of fresh hop and I got a yeasty apple bitter. Yeast character and apple fruit with minimal hop. Disappointing bitter, but the yeast character I thougth was ok.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white head. Initially a peppery, sharp hoppy beer, but then a sweetish, caramel malty flavour takes over. Easy and light on the palate, the hop manages to linger around in the close making it fairly decent.

Cask at the Briar Rose (JDW), Birmingham. Amber with a thin ring of white head; hoppy aroma; light sweet malt flavours with a hint of citrus, rather thinnly bodied; clean, light, bitter finish. A rather boring attempt at a golden ale.
