Wasatch Apricot Hefe Weizen

Hazy straw colour. Big apricot, fresh and a little bit yoghurty. Bitter, fairly astringent with a light apricot accent. Slight tartness in the finish. Nothing really comes together here.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with douglas88 (thanks!). Poured a lighter and cloudy yellow color with an averaged sized head. A couple of floaters in there. Aromas of freash peaches and apricots. Getting a lot of peaches. Tastes of apricots, lighter peaches, and wheat. Thinner body with a light tart finish.

Bottle: Very hazy yellow color, light large bubbles on the thin head with a bit of lacing. The nose is sweet and fruity with some esters balanced by a nice layer of apricot and a bit of musky wheat. Nice combination of wheat and fruit to give a pseudo german wheat beer. The flavor is a bit more extract-ish with some sweet sticky apricot and light bitterness, a bit much carbonation. There’s some additional vanilla in the nose as it warms up. The finish is a bit tangy, creamy and some odd proteins that make it nice. Thanks to my girlfriend for getting this beer for me in SLC.

Bottle. I am a sucker for apricot beers. Not sure why, but I love em. This one was pretty good. Tart apricot aroma with some wheat and yeast. Flavor has lots of dried apricot flavor, wheat and yeast. Good.

Bottle. Hazy golden, pale with some brightness in the color. Barely any head. Aroma is bland soap and perfume. Palate is very watery. Fizzy. Barely any apricot, let alone wheat, but the beer is still refreshing.

Bottle: Pale yellow, hazy, small white fizzy head, spotty lacing, mild carbonation.   Somewhat of an artificial, or candy like, Apricot nose.   Lightly spiced as well.   Apricot start, definitely fruity, doesn’t seem terribley artificial, thankfully.   The Hefe portion is quite dull tho, not as wheaty of a mouthfeel as I was hoping.   Moderate body, flavorful, but just not full enough.   Lingering Apricot flavors after the finish, but also with a touch of dish soap.   Decent offering, just a bit too thin.

12oz bottle. Soapy aroma and stale fruit. Hazy yellow with white head. Has some apricot flavor but is starchy and dry. Not a very good fruit beer.

Pretty much smells like apricots. The taste is actually pretty good. Not very wheaty but it’s there. It has just the right amount of apricots and is drinkable.
