The nose had a nice floral hop aroma with a fruitiness beneth. The taste started with a nice caramel sweetness that was entwined with a light fruitiness. Citrusy hops soon follow providing a nice bite and complement the malts well. The finish was of dry breads. This amber had a nice creamy, medium feel. Great balance and very easy drink’n. hayduke (1663), Eureka, California, USA

Medium mouthfeel. Flavor of caramel malts with light hops. Not much finish but what exists is dry. Average amber. swoopjones (1919), Buffalo, New York, USA

WOW, what a beer. kidding. these pour breweries in Utah - are they that boundary stricken that they make a beer this flavorless? This is literally gulpable. Just about reminded me of a Michelob Amber. Ouch. Ah well, hopefully there are some better brews to be found in Utah....we shall see on the next business trip. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 11, 2007 27-May-07 (12 oz bottle: Purchased 13-Apr-07 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) By far the most interesting thing about this "Darwin approved" beer is its story and the label art. In fairness, I recognize the brewery is severely handicapped by the alcohol laws of Utah, but nevertheless, the flavor leaves a lot to be desired. This clear, bright, copper-colored beer tastes sugary rather than malty, and perfumy rather than hoppy. The sweet, caramely, somewhat toasty attack is decent, but the metallic and buttery finish makes for an unpleasant aftertaste. The nose is caramely, sugary sweet and floral. Light to medium in body borders on being watery, but medium carbonation helps keep the beer from sitting lifelessly on the tongue. A small, off-white head fades quickly to a thin ring, leaving a small ring of lace near the top of the glass. Evolution Amber doesn’t even cut it for a session beer. At a minimum, all it would take is a different choice of hops, and of course, more of it. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Hint of caramel in flavor along with some medium bitterness. Drinkable but nothing to write home about here. AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2007 12 oz. bottle, short blurb along the left side of label, no freshness date, sampled in a nonic glass.
Poured a clear reddish amber with a tight foamy, pale tan head, decent retention, minimal amount of ringed sticking, mainly at the top of the glass.
A faint nose of toasted caramel, hints of sweet pale malts, floral, honey-like hoppiness.
Light body that is firmed up by the active carbonation. Tastes of toasted caramel, soft touches of sugary pale malts and raw grains. Honey tasting hops that turn mildly spicy towards the end. I believe the American version of the Tettnanger hops are being used. Finishes up dry, honey and toasted caramel flavors lingering briefing in the palate.
