Commercial Description:
This Highly controversial beer is actually a straight forward, well balanced malty amber ale. Tettanger hops provide a subtle spicy character, which balances out this well rounded ale. 1999 Bronze Medal Winner!

Mountain Brewers Beer Fest 2006. Lack of appearance judging reflects opaque plastic sampling cup. A cool name and slogan for a too grainy beer. heavy toasted/nutty aroma not balanced with only a bit of light flower hop aroma. earthy.

(at Squatters airport location) Medium copper with small white head. Faint aroma of hops. Flavor is well balanced between malt and hops.

A great beer and when i tired this back in 2001 it was a hit. A great little amber with a great taste. I like the sublte nose of the hops coming off the beer. There is a hint of spciness to this beer and I like the overall color. A golden brown. I have every sample of the 2002 from the bad bottle no one is supposed to have.

The label says "Utah Brewers Cooperative" and the cap "Wasatch Beers", so I assume Wasatch is brewing it for the restaurant where it has been found: <a href="http://www.escalanteoutfitters.com/esca target=_new>Escalant Outfitters. Thanks to MadDan and CrazySilvie - hazy and pale blond colour, practically no residual foam after 5 seconds, moderate herbal hoppiness, quite a high carbonation and a bit soapy mouthfeel; the malt body is medium at best and the finish is not memorable with just a hint of harsh bitterness and more herbal notes to disturb the quiet mediocrity of this beer

12 oz. bottle: Boy, did this suck. Why is this called 2002? Perhaps they should have stopped making it back then. I t pours a clear amber color. there was no head whatsoever. The aroma is slightly floral, malty sweet and skunky. The taste is quite similar. I wish I wasn’t stuck in Utah and had to drink this.

draft: this one was marked 2002, nobody at the bar knew what this meant. light dry and crackly when poured. some sweet toffe undertones and very little hop character. as with most mormon controlled beer....thin.
