Wasatch Polygamy Porter

Pours a opaque brown with a tan head. Heavy malt flavor with just a little bit of coffee and chocolate. Pretty thin though, a little too watery. Decent aroma, average porter. I like the label.

Bottle from grumpybrewer. Pours a very elegant deep opaque brown with a tan head. Faint nutty and roasted malt aroma. Medium to light bodied but with a watery texture. Flavor of roasted malt, peanut shells, and caramel that transitions to a bland finish, which is slightly acidic and vegetal. I think one will be enough. Just to weak for a porter. More like Porter Light.

Was expecting the name to carry more power than the beer itself and it does rather come off as "porter lite" - thin, but still with some flavor and nothing off-tasting. Just a very middle of the road, let’s not make too much noise and wake the neighbors, we made a porter that’s refreshing and won’t fill you up kinda beer. What was expected when Utah gave this to the world? thansk to my gf and her sister that thought of me whilst vacationing.

12oz Bottle Pours out a mahogany topped with a light tan head. A nice aroma of chocolate and roast malt. Tast was of roast and sweet chocolate. Very thin. just ok

starts of with a twist off... pours dark porter like with a thin tan head. aroma has some roasted malt with slight toffee. mouth full is thin with zippy carbonation. some coffee and roasted malts faintly in there. if that is all polygamy has to offer, i will stick with monogamy...

On tap: The aroma contains sweet milk chocolate and light roastiness. It’s brown with some orange hilights when held up to the light and has a small beige head that leaves behind minimal thin lacing. The flavor starts wtih moderate sweet chocolate with some faint fruitiness in the background. The finish has light-moderate roastiness that balances well with all the chocolate. Medium bodied with the carbonation being a tad lively. Very suprised by the overall score. Maybe it’s bad out of the bottle or maybe this just hit the spot after a 4 hour flight and a 3 hour layover in Salt Lake.

Lightly roasted nose. Faint chocolate and coffee flavors with a burnt finish. Kind of milky body. Decent, but nothing special.

GABF ’07. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy, off-white head, diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (caramel, roasted, nutty), light hops (herbs), light yeast (leather) with notes of smoke. Light bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
