Nov 6, 2006 Bottle. Blackish beer with an off-white/tan head. Light roasty aroma. Roasty flavor with some coffee and backing hops. Lingering malt. Medium-light bodied.

Oct 12, 2006 COffee, dirty water, brackish. Head is too small, lightly tanned bubbles. Recedes to nothing. Smells toasted malts, nuts, caramel. Taste is malty, cool and minimal. Very drinkable porter great with wings or other spicy things. By itself though, I get predominantly pencil shavings, lead, and coffee. Some soapiness. Not much in the aftertaste, maybe dark grapes. Actually decent lacing.

Oct 3, 2006 Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue, and a nice, dense, beige head. Chocolate, mocha, cocoa, molasses and roasted malt in the aroma. The flavor has mocha, coffee and chocolate. Medium body and a finish with semi-dark chocolate. A quaffable porter. (060826)

Sep 14, 2006 Dark burgundy-brown body with a moderate grayish-beige head. Lots of chocolate malt and mocha in the aroma, plus moderate roast and light earthy hops. Flavor suggests cocoa powder and is grainy and roasty. Semi-sweet with a short finish and emerging bitterness. Light-bodied, but amply flavored porter. Overall this is a flaccid, overly constrained porter. For some reason I also wrote "spinach pizza" in my notes, but I think that’s unrelated.

Sep 3, 2006 Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, small off-white head. Roasted and malty aroma. Quite watery mouthfeel, and also watery to the flavour. Only slight roasted malts and some weak chocolate in it.
