Commercial Description:
This dark, medium bodied ale offers the drink-ability of a much lighter beer. The inviting chocolate and malty flavors fade into a slightly dry, silky smooth finish. Why have just one? 4.0% alcohol by volume. • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, World Beer Cup • 2006 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association

Bottle. Black, opaque pour. Chocolate scent with hints of coffee. Disappointing thin finish. More like flat chocolate soda than a rich porter. Drinkable, but unexceptional.

via trade with Buck Dich - Pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. Spotty lacing. Has a nice toasty, light coffee aroma. Flavor is kinda plain. Light dark malt flavoring. Very little hop presence. Has a dry, thin palate. Lacks body. Worth a try. Thanks Jordan.

Aroma of caramel malt with hints of chocolate. Deep reddish brown color with persistent tan head. Starts with a typical brown ale flavor, shading to some sort of earthy tones. Maybe a cinnamon touch. Fiinish is roasty, toasty malt. With a chocolate hint.

Dark brown with a dark beige head. Roasted malt aroma with some chocolate. Pleasant sour, musty taste with some faint bitterness. Not a bad porter.

12oz bottle via trade with Bück Dich! - Thanks Jordan! - Pours dark brown with a large rocky tan head that stays pretty well and laces the sides of the glass. Aroma of light roast, a touch of caramel, and a bit of toffee. Flavor begins with a watery chocolate and roast blend and finishes with some very mild cola notes. Palate it thin and somewhat on the watery side. This lacks the robust flavor that I enjoy in porters. Comes off as watery and not so good. A shame that the contents in the bottle don’t hold up because the bottle design is fantastic and the saying of "Why have just one" is perfect.

Nice dark brown pour with a decent sized tan head. Aroma is subtle coffee tones, taste is also of coffee with chocolate, malt, and roastiness. The only piece lacking in this brew is the intensity of the flavor and perhaps a bit thin as well.
