Very mild aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Black to light brown body with a diminishing two finger thick tan head. Watery flavor in the fore gives is a steeped malt feel. Some bitterness from the roasted elements. Lacks oomf and any sort of a deeper flavor profile. Just a watery roasted malt tea really. frankenkitty (1902), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Pours a mostly clear, mahogany/ruby with a small, tan head that flattens quickly. Burnt, roasted grains start the aroma progressing to instant coffee, Ovaltine malts and dry cocoa. Flavor is thin and chocolaty (like hot chocolate made with water instead of milk) with dank, pruny notes. An O.K. Porter with awesome marketing... the <a href=http://www.workinlate.com/Losbd3.html>Leag of Strange Beer Drinkers is going to be pissed I didn’t save them some.

Clear, with no sediment in bottle. Light chocolate malt aroma, somewhat grainy. Thin light chocolate malt flavor, finish is short and moderately bitter. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. A nice marketing ploy with a pretty cool bottle, but the beer is rather underwhelming. Drinkable, but not one to seek out. ebarnes (213), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Flavor is roasted malt with hints of coffee and rye. Went well with a filet mignon. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2006 12 oz bottle: dark brown, mostly opaque with a light brown, large bubbled and quickly diminishing head. Nutty, light chocolate aroma with hints of earthy bitterness and wood. Creamy palate that is smooth and finishes slightly watery. Roasty accents are more noticeable in the finish. Though tasty, this one isn’t very robust, which makes it pretty good as a session beer. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
