| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2006 12 oz bottle: dark brown, mostly opaque with a light brown, large bubbled and quickly diminishing head. Nutty, light chocolate aroma with hints of earthy bitterness and wood. Creamy palate that is smooth and finishes slightly watery. Roasty accents are more noticeable in the finish. Though tasty, this one isn’t very robust, which makes it pretty good as a session beer. johndoughty (2170), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

Black and flat with traces of liquorice it was a fairly run of the mill beer. Still nice to try something so rare, RockYerFaceOff (32), St. Charles, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 21, 2005 On tap at Squatters in the SLC Airport. Pours deep brown with cream colored head. Head dissipates quickly. Typical porter aroma. Nothing fancy. Not strong, flavor wise. Kind of bland and lacking of body, run-of-the-mill, as far as porters go. Not bad, but not something to go out of the way for. mullet (801), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2005 Looks good - ruby tinged with a great head. Very nice spicy, grainy dark malt, malted milk, rye bread, chocolate marshmallows and a very slight yeastiness. Low alcohol is very much evident in the mouthfeel, but not necessarily in the flavour. Silky, light malt, briefly ashy dark malts and a relatively assertive bitterness. Has lots in common with Mike’s Mild, but I think I like this better (though this has way less body.) | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 25, 2005 Bottled: Dark brown with a light red touch. Light brown head. Smells like rye bread. Sweet, light roasted and cocoaish. Flavour is dominated by rye as well, but not as dominant as in the aroma. Quite thin bodied and watery. Light roasty and fruity in the end. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 25, 2005 Pours dark brown with an ultra fast disappearing light brown head. Dominating rye aroma with some chocolate hiding. Mild and sweet. Rye in the flavor as well with malty notes and a tone of hop in the end. Not very full-bodied. Not bad, but too much rye imo.
