Otherwise, I thought this was OK. Deep tawny brown colour. A bit of cocoa powder and some bitterness on the finish. Not a lot of body or depth of flavour - short of guts but pleasant enough.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Bottle. Black with a small beige head. Aromas are light and earthy with dry roast malts. Flavours are earthy roast malts with some sweet chocolate and hints of licourice. Has a soda water character, too light and too thin. RichardGretton (3145), Leicestershire, England

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Pours dark brown with a quite decent beige head. Cellary, slight liquoricy, almondy nose with some hints of juniper and roasted malt. Flavour from brown sugar, cold coffee and cocoa. Somewhat thin and watery. Caramelly finish. I liked the complexity between the malt and the roasted barley. A great beer while waiting for the chair lifts in Park City. Extra (14), England
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 1/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Bottle. Filtered and gassed. Beneath the fizz there is a half decent dark Mild, but the old and stale flavours ruin the beer. Completing Just One is more than enough for me. *1/2 tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Sweet cocoa-chocolate in the lightly roasty and fruity aroma. Clear ruby-brown with low tan head that diminishes to ring. Biscuity and roasted malts with leafy hops, chocolate and fair finishing bitterness. Flavour is quite light. Medium body is somewhat sticky with low carbonation. Bottle sampled at GBBF 2005.

Aroma has a touch of caramel and butterscotch and cookie dough. Starts semi-sweet, kinda thin and dry, lightly bready and earthy with nice malty presence and a touch of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Could be thicker, but otherwise ok.
