| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 12, 2008 Bottle courtesy of douglass88 - thanks! Sweetish chocolaty aroma with a little tang. Coke pour with a soapy light brown head. Taste is very dry, lightly bitter, with ash, roast, slight cocoa and a little sourness. Light papery hops. Aggressive without a lot of carbonation or body. Average porter, chalk up another victim to the limiting alcohol laws of Utah. mikey (337), farmington, Utah, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Poured an ebony color with two fingers of tan head. The nose was of molasses and coffee. The flavor was of burnt grains, cocoa, hints of roasted coffee and molasses. A bit of hop biterness is lurking in the back. Mouthfeel is rather thin. Overall, it’s an okay porter, straight up, no frills. KawaBomber (213), New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2008 12oz Bottle: Pours dark brown w/ a one finger light brown head. Shows some nice garnet highlights & leaves a solid ring of lacing after the head recedes. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate & some nuttiness. Flavor: Roasted malt, light coffee, a hint of chocolate & some caramel as it warms with a burnt, dry finish. No hops to speak of & way over-carbonated. I had to swirl the living hell out of it to calm it down & actually be able to taste something. Not bad, has a nice roasted malt backbone, just needs some wholesome hop goodness to level the playing field. DrnkMcDermott (1865), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 25, 2008 12 oz. bottle in trade with <a href=/ViewUser.asp?UserID=58936>douglas88, who’s still waiting on bottled Flossmoor from me. Pour is much lighter brown, but in the glass, it settles to a deep brown with light highlight and a spongy foam. Smells nice, with roasty aromas summoning me to stop typing and taste. Taste brings in dark roast coffee, with a bit of harshness from over-roasting. Probably highly attenuated, so of course it’s force carbonated and has a bit of cola texture. But who can beat a name like that? Very sessionable, still carries a bit of alcohol, and then a hint of peat, and finally, some baked apple. For a low-alcohol beer trying to stand up in the same class as Alpha Claus, this starts out unassuming, then picks up some interesting complexity along the way, ending with a light coating of malt on the roof of the mouth. daknole (3031), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Very dark pur wtih a cream colored head and a nice roasty flavor. Mouthfeel is a tad watery, but flavor is good. couchand (182), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
