Commercial Description:
This dark, medium bodied ale offers the drink-ability of a much lighter beer. The inviting chocolate and malty flavors fade into a slightly dry, silky smooth finish. Why have just one? 4.0% alcohol by volume. • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, World Beer Cup • 2006 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association

Looks great, a nice Ruby color. Medium cream colored head. Chocolate and caramel smell and strong taste, coffee lingering aftertaste that mellows nicely. Flavorful and nice micro.

So douglas88 pimped me this bottle as well. Decent drink. Purple sort of color. Almost closer to a scotch ale for me. Would like a little more roasted malt. Molasses and chocolate aroma. Fruity flavor with a bittersweet finish. A little thin and light bodied. Need a little more heft and character. The name is pretty rockin’ though.

Bottle courtesy of douglas88. Pours brown with a red hue and a thin white head. Smells of chocolate, some caramel, hints of brown sugar. Tastes watery with some fruity touches and some spice.

Thanks to douglas88. Pours blackish red with a thick tan head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate malt and a little thin. An average porter, but possibly one of the best beer names of all time.

From 12 oz bottle. Had to have this just because of the name and label. The beer itself pours a rich brown, light tan head, and good lacing. Nose of light roasted malts and nus, and a medium mouthfeel. Flavor is chocolate and fruits. Kind of a diluted flavor. Roasted malt finish. If you like your Porter light this is for you, but I found it a little too bland.

Pours a deep cola brown. Smells of roasted malt and little else. Funny as the smell might be the best thing about this beer. Tastes like some one took a decent porter and watered it down. No need to try this one again.

Draught at SLC brewpub. I wanted to try this one based solely on the name! Decently dark colour with thin head and malty aroma. Flavour was what you would expect, but a bit light, due to Utah alcohol restrictions.

Bottle @ No Name Saloon Park City Utah. Bit watery & light but one of the better Utah beers i had. Brown color, light chocolate & roasted malts. Decent porter backbone. Would like to see what they could make if they didn’t have to adhere to these laws.
