No real lacing to speak of. Nose of coffee grounds, dark malts, chocolate and some oatmeal flakes. Fore of the tongue is highly acidic and biting, rolling to the back does not help much. Flavor profile is sort of weak and watery, as the nose is. Medium bodied, the high carbonation helps here somewhat, but its still lacking something. Finish is watery, medium length and with some notes of coffee and malts. Disappointing, but at least I can say I tried Polygamy.

A bit of hops woudl have helped. Not bad and very sessionable but not anywhere near what a Porter can achieve. emagana (14), California, USA

Aroma is nice - chocolatey and roasty. Taste is a bit malty, with almost a molasses character to it. Finishes clean. poisoneddwarf (222), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA

The most special thing about this beer is the label. Smells like wheat bread gone bad. Seems to get less interesting as it warms. No detectable aftertaste. Doesn’t leave much of an impression. By the time I finished it, I thought it was the worst porter I’d ever had. Started decent, ended poorly. Hawksfan17 (718), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 23, 2009 Coffee nose on this black pour. It is a little like a black lager in flavor. The light roasted taste goes down easy. Birdiebeagle (815), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Bottle Pours a nice black with a creamy tan head. The lasts well and laces nicely. Has a nice roasted coffee aroma. Has good touches of sweetness also. Has a good carbonation. The mouthfeel is okay. The flavor is of roast but seems to be a little lite. Has a decent blending. A light body and a watery texture. The finish is soft and a lacking aftertaste. Not bad but not hearty enough for me. chandler0201 (358), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Fruity aroma. Small white head. Dark coloured fruity and slightly rich on the palate with a crisp and bitter coffee roast finish.
