Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 30, 2009 ***review from June 2006***
Awsome beer. Reminded me of a really really cold Old Style Pilsner. Closer to amber than brown and produced big slight off-white head and that really stuck to my glass. The fresh and crisp aroma caught my attention immediately. Nice clean malts and a tad bit of hops...and something sweet also hits the nose. Amazing malts in this lager made me curse the fact that I did not have a keg of Slickrock in my possesion for the weekend. Full, clean and smooth - this stuff challenges for the best Lager I’ve ever had. Heads above the rest. Multiple wives and a top notch lager...them Utahians got it all. mikey (336), farmington, Utah, USA Apr 30, 2008 Poured a light brown color with a small white foamy head. The nose was fruity and malty. The taste started crisp and dry with a mild citrus zest bitterness. Caramel malt sweetness comes next with hints of toasted breads. The end has a light spiciness in the background. Finishes dry and clean. A thin, easy to drink lager. Nothing special. Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA Jul 7, 2005 I was surprise to find this brew in a market in SLC (Emigration Market). I thought I saw all the stuff that was available in supermarket’s (Smith’s, Dan’s Food). It has a golden color with a good head, but dissapates in a short while. Very nice scent and a great taste for a lager. I like the after taste alot not too bitter, but a very drinkable beer. Be careful even though it’s only 4%, this brew can be downed very quickly. Cool name as well.
Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 30, 2005 Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (grain), trace hops (grapefruit), with a note of DMS.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
A very grainy affair, with a whisper of Cascades or something similar. A small step up from macro lagers. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA May 18, 2005 Clear and brightly copper-orange. Lively carbonation; watery body. Sweet (toffee) malt base. Notes of toast and multigrain crackers. Has somewhat of a curious yeast-like note. Healthy amount of complementing bitterness that’s filled with flowers, herbs and grass. Dryish finish. Decent beer. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Feb 26, 2003 Candy red. Smooth and malty. Reminds me totally of Yuengling Lager. Decent, but not noteworthy. solocup (49), sandy, Utah, USA Oct 20, 2002 too bitter beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Oct 8, 2002 Light brown color.
