hazy amber pour topped by a small tannish/off white head.
smells mostly of sweet grain with notes of cinnamon-y spice, faint orange/citrus, some florals and a touch of chocolate.
the flavor is... not especially good.... it’s grainy and sweet with lots of leftover sugar. orange, citrus tartness, florals, some buttery caramel (not diacetyl but not pleasant) and a slightly herbal finish make up the flavors.
the body is medium and has a certain ’swampy’ feeling to the texture... it’s kinda hard to describe but swampy really comes to mind. meh.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Deep burnt orange pour with a 1 finger head that diminishes to a ring. Something is just off in this. Almost has a malty cherry quality...not like any amber I’ve ever tasted. Just couldn’t get past it. daknole (2959), Plantation, Florida, USA

Flavor is malty and a bit nutty. Ok. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2009 12 oz bottle - Pours a crystal clear medium amber color with small light tan head. Aroma has faint biscuity notes, light caramel, faint roasty notes. Flavor is faintly nutty, notes of toasted malts and light caramel. Finish is fairly balanced. Overall this is alright - certaintly nothing to seek out, but not a bad session ale if you don’t have a lot of options. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

Smells of sweet malt, earthy, some spice. Tastes of caramel, earthy and semi sweet with some peppery splashes. bbrock81 (221), Le Mars, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 12, 2009 Bottle purchased in Hill City, SD, of all places. Pours a dark amber-brown with not much head. Aroma started out slightly lightstruck, but as that faded a very nice toastiness came through, with not much else going on. The flavor was pretty bland, not as malty as the aroma and again, not much else going on. Palate was average, maybe a bit fizzy. Not a terribly good beer. arrogantb (705), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Well, its about that time so...I like the theme of the label, I’m sure the rest of Utah agrees. The color was a beautiful amber with a head that ran away like the world’s greatest coward. The smell is a nice cereal, malty smell; I like it. The taste drops off quick. Decent malty flavor but somehow fades with a bad ending. I’d like to subtract more points but I really like the smell, fuck. GO UTAH!
