Commercial Description:
Wasatch Winterfest is a rich amber ale with caramel malt flavors and a large hop presence. Brewed with the finest Northwestern pale and caramel malts then generously hopped with Columbus and Amarillo hops. Crafted in the spirit and style of the Sierra Nevada Celebration. Inspiration? "This new seasonal was brewed to warm you through the cold winter months! Our Winterfest Ale makes a wonderful compliment to an epic day on the mountain, and the perfect companion around the fire. It’s our toast to Utah."

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a tan head and a brown body. Aroma of raisins, chamomile tea and honey. Must have been a old bottle as there were not a large amount of hops...at all. Taste was sweet with caramel and a bit tea like. Medium bubbles.

courtesy of wasatch pours light brown, frothy beige head. Aroma is hoppy, caramel malts, with nice light roast. Flavor, same as aroma, profile leans toward a good roasted malts, chocolate and some spices, grainy and bready mouthfeeel. Finish with light hops, some chocolate. Tasty.

Bottle Pours a clear dark amber with an average off white head. The head seems to last well and laces nicely. Has a good hoppy aroma, with malts, herbs, spice and some fruits. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is soft but decent. Very refreshing. Blended well and the alcohol is barely noticed. Has a watery texture. The finish is pretty good and the aftertaste isn’t half bad. Overall a fairly tasty beer.

Appearance: Pours a clear, reddish-brown body with an half inch of off-white foam resting on top. Smell: Toasted dark breads and caramels wrapped in notes of citrus, dehydrated herbs, and mild spice. Taste: Toasted dark bread crusts and grains smoothed out with a modest caramel sweetness. Lightly nutty. Citrusy, herbaceous hops with a moderate amount of bitterness. Subtle hint from the alcohol. A touch of spiciness, though it doesn’t seem to be due to an actual dose of Christmastime spices. Drying, lightly bitter, lightly spicy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinkability: Pretty good! A reasonably bold winter brew without being too heavy, ridiculously spiced, or having a laborious ABV.

Courtesy of douglas88. Pours a striking amber with thin tan head. The aroma is musty with fruit and malts creating a pleasing sensation with the aid of a touch of molasses, spice and pine hop bitterness off in the background. I was expecting the taste to be as thick and rich as the nose but it starts thin and then moves into musty smushed up fruity goodness and modest pine hoppiness. Very nice. Seems almost barleywine like, which I like.

POurs a nice ruby. Nose is sweet, fruity, flowers and citrus. Flavor is much the same with some pronounced floral hop sweetness and mild cherry flavors. Finishes sweet. Not bad.

Bottle from Douglas88.Thanks! Tons of caramel malt, toffee, and darker fruits in the aroma. A touch of earthy hops. Pours auburn with a frothy head and some good lace. Mostly full of caramel malt presence, there is also some toffee, light earthy notes, and some fruity sweetness. Malt centric up front, there are some floral, earthy, piney hop resins that dry out the finish and add nice balance to an otherwise straight up malty brew. These hippies on Whale Wars are a bunch of weiners.

Pours a ruby dark copper with a one finger frothy light tan head. The nose is malty and sweet, raisiny, nice pungent nose. Good malt complexities. Flavor is a step down. Less held together. Sweet, malty, mild peanut shell flavor. Palate is a little bland and watery. So much potential going in.
