Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2009 Enjoyed at the brewpub. This batch came out 5.9% a.b.v. and IBU 68. Medium yellow, that leaves a lace trail. C-hop aroma. A good bitterness, like a 1.5 times IPA. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Mar 11, 2009 A golden amber ale with a thin off white head. A restrained floral hops and caramel malt. In mouth, a more British IPA with dry malt, astringent notes, and grapefruit. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 12 2008. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA May 2, 2008 Draft @ Brewery 5/1/08. Pours a flat copper/dull orange color with a small airy clear head. Nose is lightly hops with some grass/hay notes. Palate is a little on the thin/watery side, similar to a home brew kit. Flavor is all hops, fresh greenery, no malt notes whatsoever. No bad as a light summer brew, but really not much substance here. RIXbeer (102), USA Jul 24, 2007 Light amber 1/8" head with nice lacing. stick nicely to the sides Hops, hops, hops, earthy, citrusy, just smells delicious My god this beer is very very hoppy. As a hop head I can only commend the brewer for an excellent beer. It’s biscuity and hoppy and slightly orange and a nice sweetness not normal for this hoppy of an IPA. Medium body, lightly carbonated If you’re a hop head, this is pretty close to heaven.I mean this is more of a double IPA than an IPA. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA Apr 7, 2007 Tap. Pours an amber color with a quickly disappearing head. Nose is pine lite mixed with fruit. I waited for the "explosion" to take place, however, it never did. This was almost absentee hops dominated by the malts. I think the ABV was lower than in the description as well. This was not an unpleasent beer and also I am not into hopbombs, but this one was confused. phildo69 (2), USA does not count Oct 14, 2006 Cask was full of the scotch ale so i had draft: copper, good persistent white head. Aroma is typical IPA; grapefruit and piney. Not balanced. Not sure if more residual sweetness is needed, or if the later hop additions need to be beefed up to round out hop flavor. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA May 31, 2006 On cask:
Pours a cloudy pale orange color leaving a thick frothy white lace that sticks to the glass. The smell is orange, peach, grapefruit, sun ripened fruit bouquet, delicious nose. The taste starts smooth slightly hoppy followed by a bitter grapefruit nudge but not overpowering sort of mellow to compliment all the flavors in the beer. The sweetness of fruit really balances this beer. The finish is again smooth, mellow fruity esters, with one last helping of citrus rind to leave you with a bite in the back of the throat.
jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Mar 13, 2006 on tap-pours a creamy white head that laces with hazy gold color. Aroma is hops. Taste is grapefruit. Good biting, mild hops that carries to a long aftertaste. Good carbonation.
