Commercial Description:
A two-hour boil was over and an expectant Master Brewer wiped his brow, knowing full well this would become a legendary beer. Inspired by his travels to Scotland, transfixed by the beauty of the Isle of Skye our Master Brewer Aaron Mateychuk knew he had to create one of the world's finest Scotch ale. A finely detailed and meticulously planned recipe was crafted. The result of such brewing genius is now flowing through our taps to you. A generous, rounded malt base plays host a multitude of flavors, all vying for dominance on one's palate. Many sips are necessary to determine what you like most about this chewy, peat-kissed ale.

Yeah, this was a strong ale that felt strong going down. Deep color that draws you in, with a type of light brown froth around the edge of the glass. Maybe its the peat that makes it so heavy, but you feel as if you've eaten a joint of beef after drinking half a glass. Otherwise, quite smooth, with a medium bite and a nice pointed flavor.

Sweet and malty the way a scotch ale should be, but this one is much more heavily hopped than most, which makes of a more pleasant, drinkable beer.

Feb 04: 6 oz sample at the brewpub. Nearly black and oily, with no head. Earthy, malty-sweet nose. Incredible silky-oily thick mouthfeel, exactly what I want from a Scotch. Brown sugar-sweet, peaty, smoky, bbq flavors, bitter chocolate to finish. Almost great....

March 05: even better this time, strikes me as earthier, sweetness a bit more restrained, better balanced.

6 OZ sample at the brewpub: Dark orange with no head. Sweet robust malty aroma. Starts bitter and ends a bit sweet.

Pours very dark brown, with a small hot chocolate looking head. Aroma is fairly vinous, sweet, and malty, with a very light alcohol in the back. Flavor has dark fruits, sweet and syrupy malts. Very thick in the mouth, coating the tongue with a lingering flavor.
