Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 14, 2008 On tap at GTMW. Poured clear brighter golden with a surprisingly fizzy cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet honey with chamomile and other floral notes.. drier on the back and enjoyable. The flavor had dry, spicy honey at the core surrounded by floral notes.. a touch sour around for some reason.. warm, grainy honey rode out the finish. Medium-bodied on the palate.. started sweet and dried out toward the back.. light oaky presence showed right at the end.. OK feel. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 10, 2008 Sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08 via special tapping at 3:30 pm. Pours a clear light golden blonde mead with some thin bubbles on the glass side and no head. Aroma of light clove honey, some butter, citrus zest, and some dandelion. Taste is lightly sweet with flavors of honey, lime zest, and some mild spring flowers. Finish has a slight apple/pear and honey aftertaste that quickly disappears. Lots of character in this mead as the temperature changes. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 13, 2008 Pours a bright golden colour, with a very nice honey aroma. Light in mouthfeel, very pleasent and unique. Floral tasting as well as a little butter. My first mead and i really enjoyed it. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 24, 2007 Light straw color with a few fizzy bubbles atop. Light honey, lime zest, cloves and hints of airplane glue. Flowery flavors along with citric acid. Touches of lemon and lime soda. Really did not want to go much farther with this one. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 10, 2007 Translucent and pure liquid sol in color with no head as expected. Sweet nectar and buttered cloves hum with cornflakes, lilac petals and gentle perfumed saffron. Distant, light hazelnut sheafs peak in from time to time. Very cold, with quite a husky background. Sweet honey drips elevate post sip and couple with a watery, starch sprayed cotton cleanliness and harshness. Sticking, searing qualities meet honey glazed pils malt. Acidic squeezed lemons transfer into a honey bear squeeze bottle, in tangent with nectar and gingered pear predominance. Minor, harsh bitterness and a tongue scraping wake. Lemon honey clover gains more charismatic sugary sweetness as the carbonation unfurls. Touches of apple cloves point to a sweet, clean and figgy picture as it exits.
