Commercial Description:
A blend of three of their beers that included the barleywine, winter ale, and Big Phatty with some more fermentables added for good measure. Then aged in a Cabernet wine barrel for 10 months.

WA Cask Beer Fest ’06. Pours ruby with an off white head. Aroma is grapes and pine hops. Taste is wine like with a sharp pronounced hop character. Big alcohol flavor. Unique offering.

Cask. Aroma was raisiny alcohol. Flavor was raisin, sweet malt. Sour finish was a turn off. Not my favorite.

GABF 2006: Lightly hazy dark amber color with a red tint. Vinous aroma that was fairly sweet. Notes of grapes and apples. Hint of alcohol as well. Sweet and fruity flavor with notes of red wine and dark fruits. Sweet and warming finish. Alcohol is hidden well.
