The aroma picked up soft chocolate and bready notes upfront with a little earth and faint floral hoppage around.. quite enjoyable. The flavor found toasty chocolate, coffee, and lesser molasses surrounded by earthy accents.. hints of smoke on the back.. tasty and well-balanced. Light-bodied with great use of malts in here.. higher carbonation moved it well across the palate.. dry and well-balanced. This was a great surprise! JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Dark brown color with a small thin isle of beige bubbles atop. Caramel and creamed corn aromas. Not quite as bad as it sounds. More different than anything else. After the first taste, sweet weak coffee comes to mind. THere is a mild caramel flavor that over toward the end. Seems like a strong brown ale. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Clear brown body. Light aroma, not much out of it beyond gas - maybe some chocolate malt. Gutless flavor - watered down chocolate (tootise roll), coffee grounds, honeydew yeast, strawberry. Light mouthfeel that doesn’t even fit the light flavor. Some cocoa powder in the finish.
