phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 2, 2008 Probably one of my favorites from Water Street: Poured a somewhat cloudy brown colour with a small tan head. Soft nutty flavor, with a sweet apple aroma. A pleasent mouthfeel and semi sweet taste. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 On tap at the downtown brewpub on 6/21/07: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin ring of light tan head. Sweet, bready doughy malty nose has a touch of chocolate and nuts. Body starts fairly full with some light raisin and brown sugar complexity thinning toward a doughy, semi-dry finish. An interesting and enjoyable brown ale. MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA Oct 7, 2007 terrible... brown, bland, odorless, flavorless... actually it has enough brown sugar like flavor to be more icky.. no no no. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 06/21/2007

Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Aug 13, 2007 Poured a super dark brown with a white foamy head. The aroma was malty, yeasty and some sugar. The flavor was malt, brown sugar and floral hops. Mixed in the backside of the flavor was a weird herbal, tree bark thing that I didn’t quite understand. Very watery mouthfeel. The finish was super dry and this beer was fairly easy to drink. Just weird. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2007 Quite dark and creamy looking but little head. This beer must be pure malt as those flavors abound but some hop taste is underneath. It had the interesting effect of numbing the back of my throat. On tap at the brewery. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 22, 2006 Draught at the brewpub (Downtown Milwaukee location). Clear chestnut brown color with a thin rapidly disappearing head. It went so fast I didn’t even see what color it was and there certainy wasn’t any lacing. Smelled and tasted of vanilla and cream soda with a suspicious malt extracty flavor in the background. Slightly sweet on the tongue. This is a brown ale?
