Dark brown color with a creamy thin tan head. Sweet thick aroma bursting with caramel malt and subtle German hops. Body is thick and slightly syrupy with a thin carbonation and lots of sweet caramely malt. Some dark fruity flavor is also noticeable. A very good doppelbock and the best beer I've had from this restaurant brewery.

Copper color with a smaller beige head. Caramel covered figs aroma. Black walnuts and caramel flavors dominate. Nuttiness lingers through to the finish. Slightly thick and oily feel. Some mild cleaner/solvent flavors distract slightly.

On draught at the brewery/brewpub in Delafield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some flowery and citrus hops, a touch of dark berries, and some soy sauce. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of raisined caramel malt, some tart berries, flowery hops and a touch of toffee. Finish slightly metallic from the high alcohol with a sweet raisin-like caramel aftertaste.

On tap at the Delafield location. Poured deep amber with a well-retained cap of rich beige head. The aroma picked up dark fruit and caramel maltage with a quite prevalent malt vinegary presence throughout.. OK, but it hinted at a problem. The flavor found dark fruit, caramel, and molasses at the core, again with abrasive vinegar and fruit skin sharpness throughout.. dried up at the finish, along with some residual sugars and sourness. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and ugly sourness on the palate.. rough and not rewarding.

Brown color with a medium head. Malt and almost a wine-like aroma. Very malty taste with an abundance of soy sauce on the finish. Just a bit overly sweet.

a light brown color w/ a small tan head. Carmel and syrup in the aroma, overly sweet, palate was pretty avg. Flavor was ok for a water street brew, but nothing special, mostly sweet carmel & syrup, a touch of toasty nearly nutty flavor... not much else.

Pours a dark brown body with a medium sized tan head. nice retention in the head. A very smooth beer with plenty of chocolate and nutty flavor. Light roasted malts and cinnamon on the nose.
