Sampler poured draft at the brewpub (milwaukee, wi). Pours a nice dark ruby over midnight with moderate tannish head that remains and laces. Aromas are nice roasted malt and chocolate, a little light, but more dominant than their other brews. Initial is a bit more full bodied: nice roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee with some nice qualities. The best beer they brew that I have had. Cheers!

I was lost in milwaukee and found this place. The bartender was cute, poured this for me. Some coffee on the nose. Flavor was chocolatey and fruity. I’ve had better, but it seemed pretty solid.

On tap at the Water Street - Delafield, Wisconsin location. Pours an opaque black brew with a thin light tan head that slowly dissipates to a creamy fine film top. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a touch of soy sauce, dark chocolate, molasses and a hint of coffee. Taste is smooth and creamy, full bodied with flavors of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, a hint of soy sauce, and some flowery hops. Finish is silky with a mild bitterness that quickly disappears and leaves behind a toasted dark malt with chocolate aftertaste.

On draught at the Delafield Water Street location. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin creamy light tan head that slowly dissipates to a creamy fine film top. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a touch of soy sauce, dark chocolate, molasses and a hint of latte coffee. Taste is quite smooth and creamy, full bodied with flavors of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, a hint of soy sauce, and some flowery hops. Finish is very smooth and silky with a mild bitterness that quickly disappears and leaves behind a toasted dark malt with chocolate aftertaste. This has to be one of Water Street’s finest seasonal beers.

On tap at the Milwaukee location. Poured near black with a short cap of deep tan head that settled quickly. The aroma picked up molasses and dark chocolate laced with some raw sugars.. brown sugar warmth filled up the back of the nostrils, and the booze was well-masked. The flavor found sweeter, well-roasted chocolates, molasses, and vanilla with light coffee and woodsy bitterness surrounding.. wam on the back, and quite smooth. Sweet, roasty, and dry on the palate with a medium-plus body to it.. warm final impression. Looking at the rating history, they’re getting better with this one.

Heavy roasted aromas, some chocolates and coffee, monsterous roasted taste, with lots of bakers chocolate and coffee and hop bitterness in the finish, smooth at first got a little harsh towards the end. Came from a growler ,so I didn’t get the heavy carbonation spoken of previously. Water Street does make good stouts, they have the best stout on the Summerfest grounds during Irishfest. Thanks Ubamartian

On Tap. Pours a thick black with decent white head. Aroma is roasted barley, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, very complex. Needed to warm a bit for the flavors to come through. Chocolate, vanila, coffee, oats, and much more. Starts sweet, blends into the choclates, and a creamy overtone, then finishes with a roasted bitter. Dry finish with a good lingering flavor. A very decent stout. Going to get a growler of this for the game today if I can.
