Water Street Munich Helles

Interesting...sweet and nutty. Some yeast, served a little too warm for a lager. Low carbonation and yellow. It needs more flavor, it is just too light.

1/2 liter draft in Milwaukee. Filtered orange tan color. Balanced malt flavor, this one is right on. In no way encapsulated into US macro confines, official stuff that captures the best of Bohemian drinkability. Subtle and delicious.

Sampler poured draft at the brewpub (milwaukee, wi). Pours a nice organish amber hue, light haze, with bright white head that dies to a film. Aromas are muted, light biscuity malt with a faint spice. Initial is bready, a bit fuller in body than the previous. Laces well, mellow sweetness that is pleasant. Not a lot of hop presence, a bit of a skunk finish. Liked it, despite what other reviewers seem to feel.

On tap at Water Street Brewery in Milwaukee. Golden yellow with medium white head. Aroma of toasted malt, light hops and mild sweet malt. Taste of caramel, corn, toasted malts and lemon. Dry crisp finish.

pours a light amber colour, light body- pours a generous white head with plenty of malted flavor, and a moderately grainy texture. possibly a decent summer brew.

On tap at the Milwaukee location, known under Munich Lager, golden color, with an off-white head, with a mild sweet pale, toasty malt nose, with a subtle corny accent, and a faint citrus floral hop aroma follows through on a medium with a crisp sweet honeyed pale malt, a flowery hop, citrus fruitiness, leading towards a lemony, lingering hop bitterness finish.

On draught at the brewery/brewpub in Delafield, Wisconsin as Munich Lager. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a fast dissolving white head head leaves behind a fine film and thin white ring. Aroma of some light golden and caramel malt, grassy hops and some extra fruit flavors that the Honey Lager was missing. Taste has a light malty flavor, a dry and powdery caramel malt flavor with some grassy hops. Finish is slightly dry with a fast disappearing grassy hop that becomes crisp and clean cut.

On tap at the Milwaukee location. Poured clear brighter golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up rich bready and caramel malts with a pinch of lemon.. semi-sweet pale malt undertones. The flavor had toasty pale and bready malts with lemon zest at the sides.. some dry yeasty notes and spices at the back-end. Lighter-bodied and crisp on the palate with a little tackiness toward the back. This was powerfully average.
