Commercial Description:
This deep brown/black English ale is similar to a Stout, but smoother and more chocolate flavored than coffee flavored.

Sampler poured draft at the brewpub (milwaukee, wi). Pours a nice dark brown with ruby notes and small offwhite head that laces a bit. Aromas are light roasted malts, light cocoa, and slight tobacco. The beers by the brewery lack real aromas. Initial is sort of bland: some roasted malts linked with some tobacco and nutty notes and some light cocoa. Decent flavor at least. Finishes a bit thin, but the taste remains on the palate. Ok.

saw the ratings and thought... oh my a drinkinable beer at water street.... oh well... not really. Dark brown pour w/ a small brown head and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate... a bit sweet.. yet not right something just a touch off... not bad but like stale chocolate w/ a grain underneath it. Palate was ok. Flavor was drinkable some basic roastiness to much grain for a porter. Not terrible so maybe the best thing they’ve made.

Very dark brown color with a thin but stable milk chocolate colored head. Aromas of earthy malt with touches of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavors follow the aromas with malt, chocolate and very mild coffee. Easy to drink with enough depth to keep things interesting.

Beautiful dark pouring beer. Coffee auroma. The description states more chocolate then coffee flavor, but it taste the other way around to me. Very respectible beer.
