JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Feb 28, 2009 Dark amber to copper in color. Moderate dissipating off-white head. A hint of caramel for just a second prior to the whiskey hitting the scene. Really strong on the bourbon. Looks like they aged this one longer than the one Skyview had as this one is a light amber with a couple of shot of bourbon added. Now I like whiskey, but I was not prepared for this. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 10, 2008 Sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a thick off-white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Aroma of watered down scotch/bourbon scents with just a hint of caramel malt and grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with a flavor that is quite similar to a glass of bourbon whiskey on the rock and all the ice have melted. Finish continued a very light and watered down bourbon flavor that hides any caramel malt character. One of the lightest bourbonized beers I have tried to date. If you have just turned 21 and want to slowly adapt a taste of bourbon and water, this beer would be a good start.
