(Bottle 25 cl) Pours a clear, reddish mahogany with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and....licorice. Fairly full body with plenty of malt - sweet, roasted malt. No real bitterness. A real pleasant winter warmer. 240806

On tap @ a la Mort Subite. 26/05/06. Good size tan head on a dark deep cherry red body. Smooth malt taste, medium body, mainly notice the cocoa. I liked this after having a faro and a kriek.

Bottle. Weak, sourish aroma, reminding me of oud bruin. Dark brown colour, very small head. Sweet flavour with some toffee, slightly acidic. Strange, sugary toffee flavour, not my kind of Scotch ale.

Dark brown with a light brown head. Sweet in smell with brown sugar. Flavorfilled taste with brown sugar and malt.

(Draft. 03/2006) Sweet, brown sugar aromas. Almost cloying. Notes of dried fruit are there but definitely muted. No hops to speak of. Decent had laced the glass nicely. Clear garnet color. Nothing to write home about and not to have more than one, but not the worst beer in the world.

Tap. Sweet sugary aroma. Very dark brown with little head. A brown sugar flavor - tasted very similar to the Ciney brun I had just before it except with less of the dried fruit notes. Very drinkable.

Very basic bland boring beer. Tastes almost of artificial sweeteners like a diet cola. Some hop bitterness and malt astringency not palate pleasing.

Draught at Hasselt Belgian Bierweekend. Milk aroma, fruity. No hops. Clear red-brown with thin off-white head. Thin body and weak carbonation. Very sweet start, malty. Fake sugary sweetness and no hop or bitterness to counteract. Cloying finish and after.
