Commercial Description:
The aroma of this beer is agreeably gentle and is carried by a discreet bitterness while the balance between the malt and hops relies on fruity accents and a lightly fresh aftertaste.

Bottle, poured in tulip glass. Hazy caramel orange with light foam head and floaters, let settle and warmed up a bit, no lacing. Aroma of caramel and light malts, yeast, hops. Soft on the palate with some slight spice hops and a bit of citrus. I get a mild wheat texture in the middle towards the end with a little zing.

Poured into a trappist glass. About a 1 finger white head and a light golden body that released a nice sweet, citrus aroma. The taste was a little hoppy and sweet. Definitely fruity with a light aftertaste. Good beer

A: Nice pour with a large, frothy white head that hung around for awhile and then dissipated to about 1-finger size. Very nice lacing on the sides of the glass in web forms. Body is a dark-golden color and hazy. S: Aroma comes through as mostly yeast and several examples of fruit, such as lemon, orange, and others I’m no good at identifying. T: Bready yeast and fruity, hints of lemon and orange coming through. Finishes with a moderate warmth from the alcohol, but by no means overpowering. Very nice. M: Great on the palate, with a medium-to-full body and creamy texture, and quite lively carbonation. D: A very nice tripel; not quite up to snuff with the St. Bernardus Tripel, but still very enjoyable and actually fairly easy to put one back.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.2oz bottle into a goblet. There is a best before date of 21-06-10 on the back label and it was sampled on 7-1-09. Appearance: Its head is foamy white in color, thin (about one finger) and fades quickly to a very thin wispy covering with very little lacing. The body is golden tan in color and has a hazy appearance with lots of tan colored yeast sediment floating in it. Smell: The aroma has a sweet fruity and estery nose with hints of dry earthy yeast and some very light hints of spicy/floral hops. Taste/Mouth: It starts with fruity apple and apple wood notes, mixed with light bready malty notes that have a honey on soft white bread sweetness. The flavor starts to dry and I notice hints of dry white grape notes and dry funky yeast. This leads into the finish along with mellow spice and bitterness from the hops. Its texture is lively yet smooth with nice champagne like carbonation inside of a solid medium body. Notes: This was a very enjoyable Tripel. I liked the mellow sweetness that slowly dried out towards the finish and the champagne like texture and grape flavor.
