Commercial Description:
The aroma of this beer is agreeably gentle and is carried by a discreet bitterness while the balance between the malt and hops relies on fruity accents and a lightly fresh aftertaste.

2002 vintage, labeled 7.0% ABV
Shady apricot color, some yeast particles, small white head. Sweet, spicy, "sweet licorice" (we have the salty ones in Sweden/Finland) and alcohol scent. Some grains and solvents. Very sweet and spicy taste, some milk. Medium to smooth mouthfeel. Low bitterness. A bit of apples.
It does not feel like 6 years old at all.

Dark coppery colored with hazy appearance. Little white head. Strongly spiced aroma with lemon and grains, medium alcohol comes up also. Slight disappointment. Medium bodied, crispy carbonated. Flavor also starts with grains, turns to more hopped and spiced with sweet fruits. Aftertaste has some yeast with mild alcohol and spices. Flavor is much better than aroma.

11.2 oz. bottle on 1/29/2008. Hazy gold with a medium, loosely structured white head that collapses fairly quickly to thin layer. Light fruity aroma, some alcohol evident, notes of honey. Light to medium body and lively effervescence, some stickiness, but pretty smooth. Good balance of light malt flavors and soft bitterness. Finish is softly dry and lingering.

This one poured a cloudy orange color with a big bubbly white head that slowly faded away and left the lacing on the glass. The aroma was of citrus fruits, malts, orange peel, and a touch of hops and spices. The flavor was full of citrus fruits, spices, and sweet malts. I also get some caramel in there with some hops to balnce it out in the background. There is a nice balance to this one. This one is smooth and spicy on the palate with a nice sweet, dry finish. I liked this one better than the regular tripel. Nicely done.

Bottled sample via radiomgb, consumed about a month before the best before date. Dark gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aroma of green apples, riesling grapes, and a hint of caramel. More caramel in the mouth, along with notes of black pepper, yeast, mild citrus, and sherry. Moderate bitterness, and fuller bodied than most tripels that I’ve had. Slightly oxidized, but still in pretty good shape.

Poured into chalice from 11.2oz bottle, minimally refrigerated to the printed temperature suggestion, 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit. Fizzy, large bubbles rising like champagne to a frothy head. Taste, color and aroma reminiscent of apple cider. Soft and mellow when swallowed, but leaves an exciting tingly aftertaste. Tasty and enjoyable Belgian Tripel.
