Faint lemony and basic spices aroma. Taste is very yeasty with some fruity flavours (pineapple-ish). Leaves a pleasant salty dry mouthfeel (onion salt?). Side by side with a Fin Du Monde (classic of the genre) this one lacked the bite and intensity of the FDM but made up for it with a more complex yeast character. I called it a draw. Having these two gorgeous blondes at the same time is unfortunately these days the closest I can get to a threesome. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2006 From a 750 ml. caged cork bottle with a blurb and serving information on the back of bottle, a best before date that I can’t find, sampled at a cooler cellar temperature in a goblet.
Poured a hazy tripel golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing, small amount of ringed sticking.
Aromas of dusty, dry yeast, apples, mild spices, honey and sweet malts, a light tropical fruitiness and spicy hops.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dry and smooth lightish medium bodied mouthfeel.
Delicious tasting, apples and pears from the yeastiness, candied sugar, honey bread malts, soft bitterness from the spicy hops, bananas and tropical fruits in the middle, the alcohol is well masked and provides a nice warmth in the palate, and dry, sweet fruity and malty finish, good tripel drinkability.
A really nice Belgian tripel, well worth trying.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Bottled. Hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Yeast and fruits in aroma. Fruits, alcohol and yeast in flavour. The yeast fits in excellently in this beer and balances up the sweetness it would be without. Quite oily palate though. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland
