Commercial Description:
The aroma of this beer is agreeably gentle and is carried by a discreet bitterness while the balance between the malt and hops relies on fruity accents and a lightly fresh aftertaste.

Strong fruity aroma with some spices. Caramel, spices and nice bitterness in taste. Fruity finish, a bit disgusting and a beautiful color.

I like this ale, but I’d wager that, had St. Bernardus (the brewery, not the saint) not labelled this as a tripel, it probably would have been listed as a "Belgian Ale." (I enjoy meaningless bets like that. They did call it a tripel, and there’s no way to go back and see how we’d all react if they hadn’t.) It’s a light, fruity golden colored ale with a frothy white head. The flavor is yeasty with cherries and other light fruits. Alcohol does make a brief appearance in a warm, fruity finish.

Poured golden with a creamy white head. Perfect apperance I thought. Good aroma with candy apple, courant, wheat, orange and vanilla. Courant was the main thing that came out in the taste. Thick pacjed some punch but it was not overdone. On the whole I was very impressed.

Super golden apple yellow color. Micro bubbles. Super huge chewy texture. Really fills up the mouth exploding. Fruity, apple, spice, cinnamon nose and flavor. Sticky on the tongue. Mostly malt and bread, toffee and caramel flavors in the middle. Fairly long finish. Not the best Triple, but solid, and a good pick up.

(Bottle 33 cl) Rather pale golden for a Tripel with a solid, rocky head. Very malty nose and malty flavours - but with only a vague bitterness in the finish. Surprisingly mild and smooth for a Tripel - a style that’s most often fairly agressive. 290705

Bottle. Golden orange colour with fine head retention. Biscuity aromas as well as freshly baked wheat bread and youghurt. Quite yeasty. The flavor is even more yeasty. Dominated by the same elements as the aroma but also with a hint of oranges. Very creamy on the palate with a slight but fitting bitterness at the end. Very nice trippel but not an outstanding one.

Bottle @ Smokeless. Hazy amber with yeast floating amidst the honey thick liquid. Smells sweet with hints of caramels and maple syrup. Nice soft mouth not astringent compared to the westmalle. Nice and smooth with a bit of fizz to finish. Definitely a worthy tripel.
