Somewhat similar to the Blanche du Chambly in that it’s weighted more towards the spice side of things than the citrus. Could use a bit more yeasty flavors though. Still refreshing and good. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 11, 2004 Hazy straw hue with rocky white head and good lace. The aroma hints of wheat, biscuit, coriander, clove, lemon and orange zest, and floral hops. The taste starts twangy and buttery with a dose of bitterness following. I picked up an musty and papery off-taste however. The finish display more of the wheat, pepper and spice tones. The mouthfeel is lively but dry, making it less refreshing than most witbiers I have tried. Of the five witbiers I have had in the past week, this one is the worse. Does not offer the promise of refreshment I so want from the style, avoid. fomentateur (110), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2004 Watou's Wit Bier/Biere Blanche is a classic example of a Belgian style Wit. Pale yellow hazy (hefe) color with a nice rocky head that left perfect Belgian Lace clinging to the glass. The aroma is fresh, I seem to have purchased a nice young wit that has fruity aromas balanced with corriander and citrus. The flavor is in balance with the aroma reflecting the use of corriander and orange peel for spicing. A quick dry finish leave the palate wanning for more.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2004 Yellow hazy brew ith a nice head that disapeared a bit too quickly. Yeasty nose and incredible yeasty flavor as only the belgian brewer can do. Note of coriander and citrus. Great body for a witbier. Very impressive for this style. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark

Yeasty nose with tones of coriander. Flavor is yeast, coriander and a little citrus. Lighter than most witbiers. madsberg (5076), Søborg, Denmark

Yeast, spices and some light banana notes in the aroma. Yeast and notes of spices in the flavour. Very thin mouthfeel. Almost watery in the aftertaste. A wit to forget.
