Sweet, light on the tongue, fruity, tangy, wheaty. Smooth, lemony and refreshing. Really very good, and the lingering flavour in the throat is delicious. A good Wit, well served. eaglefan538 (2368), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Poured with a small head that provided simply outstanding lacing. Some floral aspects (rose?) were detectable and these were nicely laid on top of the basic wheat and citrus flavors of a witbier. There were some significant levels of coriander and other spices, while this one had a great aroma and flavor (including some yeast). This may be my favorite witbier to-date, although getting it fresh and ready to go in Ieper was probably an advantage over the other import wits I’ve had. BeerRunner (144), San Diego, California, USA

I find this cloudy beer more refreshing from the tap, more citrus tones, little sweetness of the wheatmalts, and quite a dry aftertaste of the localhopps of Poperinge i presume.
It’s indeed a easy going white beer, almost like a lager.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2004 Watou's Wit Bier/Biere Blanche is a classic example of a Belgian style Wit. Pale yellow hazy (hefe) color with a nice rocky head that left perfect Belgian Lace clinging to the glass. The aroma is fresh, I seem to have purchased a nice young wit that has fruity aromas balanced with corriander and citrus. The flavor is in balance with the aroma reflecting the use of corriander and orange peel for spicing. A quick dry finish leave the palate wanning for more.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2002 A nice belgian wit. It may lack the balance of hoegaarden, but it provides interest with slightly higher maltiness (body) and definitely more sweet orange peel than any wit i’ve had. Notes of coriander and carucao peels are evident as well. I had it out of the bottle, a smallish 250 ml example and it lacked in carbonation with respect to style guidelines. I could easily drink this beer all night. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA

Light straw.
Biscuit-like and buttery malt under notes of toffee, lemon and coriander.
Strongly Lemon-laden palate. Notes of caramel, sugars, tangerine and orange. Finish is butter toffee. Great example of the style and a great palate cleanser as well while tasting a bunch of bigger beers.
