Quack-Duck (1698), Bodensee, Germany May 25, 2008 bottle, traded with derkaro. Clear amber-brown colour, big beige head. Full-bodied, very malty, slightly sweet flavour with hints of roasetd malt, toffee and caramel. Slightly fruity. A well-balanced and crispt Bock with a dry and pleasantly hoppy finish. MiP (4927), Flensburg, Germany May 10, 2008 Bottle, 6.2%. Malty, slightly dusty aroma. Clear dark brown colour, very small white head. The flavour is quite malty with a little dust and some citric notes. OK bread note to balance. Strangely citric. acertain (249), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 13, 2006 Thanks to Papsoe for allowing me the chance to be the first non-European to rate this. Pours a clear nut-brown with medium frothy white head that quickly retreats. Aroma is dominated by sweet malts with a hint of dried fruits and a touch of vinegar. In the mouth, it starts sweet, malty and fruity, then finishes drier and the vinegar/sourness comes back (though again, just a touch). There’s some residual bitterness. A decent beer that I wouldn’t hesitate to drink again, but wouldn’t seek out. Geiserich (1530), Vienna, Austria Jan 18, 2006 Bottled:
Amber orange color. Sweet flavor, some nut, honey and caramel flavor. Dry, balanced bitter finish. Quite o.k. bock. MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany Jan 12, 2006 (bottle) Clear amber colour with a small frothy beige head. Sweet malty aroma, slightly roasted with caramel.
