From the tap at the Wedge brew pub. Not as aromatic or full tasting as some dubbels I’ve had, and not quite as spot on for style as the Wedge’s fantastic Golem (tripel), but this nevertheless is quite enjoyable.

Pours a dark hazy orange with great tan head. Aroma is sweet, and even some bubblegum. Flavor is a little spicy and yeasty. Velvety body. Not bad at all, I was actually rather impressed with this one.

Pours a dark ruby-reddish brown with a tan head. Smells fruity, tastes sweet and roasty. Has a creamy and smooth toffee like finish.

On tap. Pours a muddy brownish amber with no head. Strong sweet esters are present in the aroma. This is heavy on the cardamom and clove with hints at sweet malt and light fruits. The mouthfeel is full and sticky with spices up front and also lingering in the finish.Fruity hints at apples and maraschinos are made. This gets very slightly buttery after a pint, but it is a good drink nonetheless.

Red pour with tan head. Sweet and roasts in the aroma with fruit. Hint of toffee in the flavor and kind of creamy. Interesting version of this style.

Draft at the brewery. Pours orange with off white head. Taste is dominated by spices and yeast. Decent but no great.
