| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Served on nitro at the brewery. Color is almost completely black with your standard dark brown nitro head. Aroma is roasted malts, molasses and raisin. Taste is very different. Very fruity with notes of cherries, berries, green apple and only slight hints of roastiness. Full bodied. decaturstevo (2007), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Black with a dark tan head and lace. Sweet almost raspberry aroma and light/medium chocolate nose. Sweet chocolate, roasted malt, and more raspberry on the flavor. Good carbonation and decent mouthfeel. Nice beer. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Draught at the brewery. Pours black with big, tight tan head. The aroma is raspberry, chocolate, a bit of iced coffee, and light vanilla. The flavor is raspberry and coffee with a few chocolate and vanilla notes. The berries give it a little bit of a sour edge. There is a bit of ash to the finish. It is a decent beer, but the fruit is not done as gracefully as it could be and makes a bit of a flavor clash. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Draft at the brewery. Near black pour with dark brown head. Very sweet, roasty, coffee, aroma. Flavor has dark cherry notes (which i later found out is actually raspberry) Hides the abv very well! NachlamSie (1649), Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 6, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Pours very back with a very tall, foamy, evenly formed head. It looks like nitro, everything is so symmetrical. The aroma is very juicy and very fruity with loads of berries with dark chocolate and mild roast in the backgound. The palate is much thinner than expected, given the style and the aroma. It seems slick and watery, though some spritzy bubbles prickle my tongue making me question the use of nitrogen after all. A milky sweetness is noted along with boat loads of berry flavor. Probably raspberry. It is not a seamless blend of stout and fruit as the raspberry flavor dominates everything and makes the lovable imperial stout qualities seem deranged and forgotten. I really like Wedge Brewing as well as robust, dark ales; I would then recommend their Community porter. jimbowood (962), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Draft at the brewery. Big, bold stout which is balanced by subtle raspberry flavors and nitro creaminess. Very good.
