Coal black pour with tight foamy head and lace. Espresso, dark chocolate, can a beer smell thin? Grainy chocolate, burnt coffee, nice malt bitter. Thin as it smells:)

Nice appearing near black, brownish pour. Sizeable cream colored head. Nitro-like head though this was on a traditional tap. Aroma was roasted malt and oatmeal with hints of chocolate. Very creamy medium body. Taste was a great balance of chocolate, roast malt. Slight coffee finish. One of the best oatmeal stouts I’ve had in a long time, everyone has gone to much more aggressive style stouts. A drinkable, flavorful session stout. The best beer I had all weekend, better than the Foothills Peoples Porter, which was still pretty good.

Black pour with brown head. Head stays throughout. Aroma of malts and caramel, some chocolate. Flavor of chocolate, dark with roasted nuts and some coffee. Thick but still watered down enough to be drinkable.

Served on nitro at Barley’s in Asheville. Pours pitch black with a large brown head. Great head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, bitter hops and green apple. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, espresso and strong bitter hops. Very bitter finish. Full bodied. Damn good.

Draught at the brewery. Pours amber black with small tan head. The aroma is roast, oats, a little bit of smoke, and some nuttiness. The flavor is creamy oatmeal, chocolate, and a bit of roasty sourness. Not bad.

Great dark brown pour with brown head. Amazing aroma of oats and chocolate. Bitter chocolate flavor. Medium body with very low carbonation and a roasty, semi-dry finish. Probably my favorite beer they had.
