| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Cask at atlanta cask ale festival and man are those some fresh ass hops. Huge grassy aroma and earthy grassy flavor is like chewing on wet cut greenery. All the way in the background is a little citrus aroma and a tinge of a grapefruit bitterness but all of that is drowned out by the fresh hopping cask conditioned aspects of this baby. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Poured a slightly hazy copper with a small but lasting white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of fresh sweet malt, citrus hops, and a hint of caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and nice crisp finish. They packed in a whole bunch of flavor into a small beer. Very good. GAManiac (1155), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Cask at the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting.
Pours a clear golden amber with a small bubbly head.
The aroma is dominated by the floral fry hops up front which carry the smell throughout with some caramel malts int he background.
The hops are again prevalent in the taste up front with some lemon grass and hints of pine. The malts are more bready that anything and form the backbone of this one before the hops come back and leave a dry bitterness in the finish.
The mouthfeel is slick and fairly light with little carbonation.
This was a very drinkable pale ale that represents a more traditional cask ale vs. some of the other big offerings at the ACAT. ChainGangGuy (2558), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Enjoyed a couple times at the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting. It was nice to see there was at least a few cask offerings with sensible ABV percentages.
Appearance: Clear, light copper body with a thin, bubbly, whitish head.
Smell: Aroma of sweetened lemon zest with a backing of basic pale malts.
Taste: Lightly grainy pale malts with a small pinch of powdered sugar. Hmm, there’s a peculiar and fairly distinct taste of green tea early on. Lemony hop character with a medium bitterness. Finishes dry and bittersweet.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: Simply a reasonably tasty, enjoyable pale ale.
