Elwood (670), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Oct 8, 2009 Serving: Draft.
Appearance: Deep blackish brown with slight ruby highlights and a small, light tan head.
Aroma: Nutty, earthy, and caramel notes in the nose.
Flavor: Follows the nose. Heavy on the nuttiness with some roasted notes, earth, and caramel. Unfortunately it is not as clean and inviting as a dunkel should be.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a lingering bitter malt aftertaste.
Overall: Not that great, but the most drinkable I’ve had from this brewery yet. Unfortunately that’s not saying much. 6ROW (243), corpus christi, Texas, USA Sep 26, 2009 dark brown pour with a small tan head. aromas and taste of coffee, baking chocolate. good beer but thin on the body Radek Kliber (3928), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2009 Bottle 500 ml

Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2009 Thanks Radek. Black with brown head and lace. Creamy mouthfeel, not thick, that evolves into sourshness, and then a drying finish. Lots of coffee. Good shwartzbier characteristics. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA Aug 3, 2009 Deep brown pour with a fluffy tannish head. Nutty aroma with some sugars. Smooth body with some bread, nut, and grain. Clean finish. Not bad. Just a bit thin. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jun 12, 2009 500ml bottle. Dark brown ale. Aroma of toasted grains and lager yeast. Flavor has a nice yeast profile. 03 may 08. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 1, 2009 500 ml. Black with a small disc of bubbles above. Aroma is licorice, dry grain and light lemon and caramel. Flavor is the same with an initially light presence of yeasty citrus and bread dough which turns to a dominating sour character later. Mainly yeasty lemon, followed by some roast in the way-aftertaste; bleahh. Medium body is very watery and acidic-dry. All you lambic-loving people need to try these WR beers, cause that seems to be all they taste like. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Dec 20, 2008 Bottle from Bro who got me this on vacation.
Murky brownish color. Smell of dark fruit, malt, hops, lemons, caramel and a touch of coco. Taste of malt, caramel, burnt toast, hops, and minor fruit. At times there was a hint of sour lemons.
