Copper/ruby pour with aroma of toffee, caramel, some slight banana. Tastes hefish, with some spicy and dense bock element, but seems a tad off balance. Not horrible, and a nice effort.

In the bottle. This came from the Asheville Wine Market in a sampler box they had put together. When I got home with it, I noticed that the beer bottle was only two-thirds full. Some quality control issues exist at the brewery, perhaps? Pours dark. As dark as your heart. The head is amazing. An off-white pillow whose lace cascades down the sides of the glass leaving thick drapes of foam protruding almost a centimeter into the inside of the glass. Aroma of molasses. Taste is thick and chewey with dominant chocolate flavors. Odd bite to the aftertaste. Delicious, even in such a small amount.

Beer pours reddish amber with an off white dissipating head. Aroma is subtle with notes of caramel, yeast, and spice. Flavor is somewhat bockish with a bit of sweet caramel malt, not much else and a bit thin on the palate. Dry finish.

On tap at Split Rock brewfest. Reddish brown in color with a nice white head. Malty, roasty. Some spiceyness in the aroma. Smooth tasting. Decent beer.

Reddish brown with a small head and good lacing. Some spicyness in the aroma. Smooth, nicely carbonated with some nutty flavors blending with the roasted malts in the taste. Finish had a sticky texture.

Completely different label. Darl copper with a nice compact foamy tan head. Cramelly banana and apples in the aroma, something salty as well. Nice body, but a bit flat. Apples and just a touch of banana, some caramel, but light. Watery finish has just a touch of tinny grassiness to it. blah.

Dark amber color, small light tan head that faded quickly but left a bit of a lace behind. The aroma was malty sweet, caramel and maybe a hint of fruit. The flavor was nice, malty and light caramel with a decent hop presence.Very light body and very drinkable brew, granted it could use maybe just a little help on the body or maybe a slight tweaking on the flavor but over all it's a damn nice brew that makes me wish i had a few more for later. Thanks go to Springslicker for sending this nice brew my way.

I didn't know this was supposed to be a weizen bock until I got here to post a rating. Something's going on here, but I'm not sure what it is. Good color, but it really needs to choose a direction in which to take you rather than leaving you wondering what you're drinking. Not nearly as fine as their most excellent Dark Lager.
